Sowinski Sullivan
was commissioned to design the PA Turnpike's Western Regional Trade Shop Facility. I had an early role in this design, helping to develop the layout of all the spaces within the building. The client desired the ability to drive through the building, giving all the trades' rooms access to this pull-through. I developed the initial driving path through the floor plan by laying out the location of the trade shops around it. The path is designed to accomodate large vehicles with wide turning radii. The administrative spaces were seperated from the trade and service spaces with a vestibule-like corridor to allow for a difference in the building's exterior envelope, and the ability to control noise pollution. These drawings were created in Revit.
