The Outpost

Building Study

Fall 2012

- Through model form, I studied the Outpost by architect Tom Kundig. My partner and I created a scaled architectural model and an analytical model, both from bass wood, to understand the elements of alignments and proportions that Kundig used throughout the home. The architectural model has the ability to come apart so that one may view the interior spaces of the building. The analytical model simplified the basic proportions of the building down to a consistent module which was the basis of the home's and garden's sizes.

In conjunction with Aislinn Tan
