Franklin Square

Delaware River Port Authority

Sowinski Sullivan

was commissioned to design the Delaware River Port Authority's (DRPA) new headhouse at Franklin Square, as well as the renovations to the subway below. The Philadelpia subway station was built early in the twentieth century, but was closed off for a long time. It's reopening called for a new, distinctive headhouse that transformed what used to be simple concrete stairs into a landmark. I was able to assist a team with this project frequently throughout its design, helping to develop the construction drawing set. This project was filled with challenging details that were constantly being worked through. A small sample of the set is shown on the left. These drawings were created in Revit.
